Looking for a unique gift? or a crazy conversation piece for your home? Look no further. A bit on the pricey side, but some wonderful time to be had browsing this crazy collection of bugs, ceramics and etc.. Definitely worth a visit.

I walked by this shop at night when it was closed and decided and had to come back the next day to go inside. If you like things found in nature turned into art, and other oddities, this is the place for you.

Nice things at absurd prices - Beardy hipster all the way. For more details see Shoreditch, London. This is a shop, not an attraction - we stumbled upon it by accident and found it v amusing.

This is one of my favorite little stops in the city. I can't afford much, but I want one of everything! I could live in the place!

The Otherist is like Marmite. Either you'll love it or you'll hate it! If glass encased bugs and insects are just what you need as your lounge conversation piece, this is the place for you. Quirky, often unique and sometimes startling; this is a shop that's worth visiting if only for its "surely not" factor. At least if you're shopping... More

I had Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit" playing in my head whilst shopping in this... the strangest, most eccentric, and creative shop that I saw in Amsterdam, Holland, The Netherlands! I mean this sentiment in a good way too. No trip to this brilliant city should be done without visiting this curiosity shop. Beautiful framed butterflies, glass eyeballs, and other apothecary... Walked in as we happened to walk along the street. Didn't buy anything, but they definitely had some very interesting items. Beautiful framed butterflies, beetles, crabs, stick bugs, old glasses, lovely jewelry, etc. Everything was also artfully displayed. The man working there was very friendly as well, even when I got caught taking photos. He informed me that this isn't... More

If Lewis Carroll opened up his own shop, it would be The Otherist. It's such a magical place, filled with breathtaking art work, delicate porcelain, antique, design books, sophisticated jewellery and so much more. You really enter another world and you are hardly to take it all in as it's such a small museum with so much beauty inside. Don't... More

This is one of the best shops I've ever seen. The owners are really nice and friendly. The collection they have is extraordinary. They are not cheap, but maybe you can find yourself a beautiful oddity here. Definetely worth a visit, this place is like a little museum on its own.

Almost worth coming back just for this shop. Kind of reminds me of American Horror Story inside...in a good way. Lots of freak-show type stuff done extremely artistically. I wanted to buy up the whole shop. Great selection of mounted insects (if not a bit expensive). Beware: no photographs inside.
