Did a 1 hour canal cruise to see this and other canals, you need to have your camera ready. Lots of people so wait for a clearance for that perfect photo.

Keizersgracht of the Emperor's Canal is the second major canal next to and parallel to the Herrengracht (Gentleman;s Canal). A good photo shot if you include the bicycles on the canal. Characteristic Amsterdam row houses on the canal provides an unmistakable view of the canals...More

This is the widest canal in Amsterdam and is a must for a boat trip with a commentary but it is also a pleasant area to walk with some great photo opportunities

It does not matter which Gracht you see first but just stolling along many of them, you start to notice their unique atmosphere, especially during different times of the day.

We stayed at a rental apartment overlooking the canal here. It was a gorgeous view and a great way to start the day with coffee or end it with a glass of wine. Many places to eat and window shop.

A truly beautiful area to walk along, not to be rushed so take your time to see all the beautiful houses along there.

Gorgeous canal views. Lots of shopping. If you just wander around, you'll find plenty of shops and restaurants to visit.

Must see in Amsterdam. Great photo spot and walk area. You can also take a boat trip which is ~12€ (we started next to the hard rock cafe).

We stayed at a B&B on the Kaisergracht and enjoyed following the canal on our walks. Just 2 blocks from us we found an interesting for market selling goods from around the world.

Canal Ring (Grachtengordel)
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is as historically
significant as it is perennially popular. Whether
you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast,
shutterbug, or fashionista, odds are you’ll find the
Amsterdam you're looking for while roaming around the
Grachtengordel (Canal Ring). A brilliant place to get
lost in a moody meander and a key component to any
sightseeing trip to Amsterdam, this area's major draws
