Great museum

Great museum with modern concepts and photographers. The price could be lower to reflect the actual space but other than that would definitely recommend a visit to anybody!

We went here as it was one of the galleries included with our Iamsterdam pass. I don't know what I was expecting personally but I came away feeling disappointed. The gallery is extremely small and to access it it seemed you had to go up and down staircases. There was also a small glass floor area that my companion wasn't... More

Hello Gee, We are sorry to hear that your visit to Foam wasn't satisfying. We are always open to feedback from our visitors. Here's a little more information. The museum is located in three 17th century canal buildings, which we have tried to make as accessible as possible, but staircases can’t be avoided without taking away from the charm of... More

If you like photography, do not miss this place. Great exhibits when I visited featuring both a retrospective and an up and comer. Loved it.

One of my obligatory stops whenever i am in Amsterdam; they always have interesting exhibitions - rotate frequently enough - and mix famous and unknown photographers. Great layout, very nice rooms with good light. They even have a small cafe - have not tried it yet - and a small bookstore at the exit.

Wonderful little compact Fotomuseum in Amsterdam City centre. The exhibitions are a feast for the eye, not big, but therefore plenty of time to visit the exhibitions with attention. The building itself is very worthwhile, gives a nice feeling of all the amsterdam houses on the canals.

Expected a photography museum (that's what it is called) paid an exorbitant admission fee to see some apparently arty pictures. Only good thing to say is the toilets were clean.

I just recently visited FOAM museum. This is must if you are a real photo lover. They have amazing exhibitions. Right now they host a Hiroshi Sugimoto exhibition. It was absolutely amazing. No words for describing Sugimoto's work. The exhibition shows part of his most important series, it is elegant and sober. You cannot miss it. The shop is great... More

This museum sounded really interesting but I was pretty disappointed in the end. It was kind of interesting but you barely spend a couple of minutes there and you're already done. Maybe if the price was less expensive it would be ok but you pay way too much for what it is.

I headed off to see some of the modern photography exhibits at FOAM while my boyfriend was otherwise occupied and taking an informal tour of coffeeshops - and I'm so glad I took the side trip. What a gorgeous old house with interesting international exhibits. Highly recommended for those interested in photography as I am, and those who enjoy modern... More

Didn't find this overly interesting or substantial in content to justify paying, but could be my tastes. But objectively, worth popping in if on Museumkaart (i.e. free).
