I recently visited the Akasha Spa to get a massage. This has to be the best Spa Amsterdam has to offer with a great location and ambiance. I was particular surprised by the amount of small details and amenities which truly made this a 5 star experience. I had a classic Swedish Massage session of 45 minutes. The therapist was... More

We enjoyed an afternoon/evening at the spa. Facilities are great and the massage was very nice. The food provided was also very good quality. A critical point is the lighting in around the swimming pool. It is quite dark, so some sort of reading light might be and additional feature

We booked two full body massages for a Monday afternoon. Absolutely brilliant. The massages were spot on you got to use the facilities too. The service was fabulous and the spa is gorgeous! Couldn't recommend this place enough! I think we paid €115 for a 50 minute massage each. I highly recommend the "combination massage"

It was absolutely worth the visit due to the wonderful massage from the very capable Christopher! He made it a complete experience and this reminded me to add this advice to my fellow ladies: don't worry if you're getting a massage from male or female, in either case they are professionals. Christopher made me feel very comfortable and relaxed and... More

Beautiful and clean spa. I was suprised by the warm reception. The service is just what you expect from a good Hotel. Definitly an amazing aquagym class with a good instructor and new and high tech aqua sport tools. Wat I liked most, the linfatic massage made by a high professional from Vietnam.

Visiting Amsterdam was truly wonderful but I this spa was a cherry on top. The most relaxing part of the whole trip! My boyfriend and I decided to get a body scrub and a full body massage. Both were extraordinary. The masseuses were so lovely and kind and they provided excellent service to ensure for a relaxing and peaceful time.... More

I booked a massage at the recommendation of a friend and was not disappointed. The facility is modern and sleek, and spotless. The room was very comfortable and had all of the amenities, lighting, soft music, etc., that you expect from the highest quality facilities. My massage therapist, Sandra, was also wonderful, maintaining a perfect rapport and addressing the particular... More

After a busy work week we were already placed in a relaxed and tranquil mindset when welcomed by the Akasha receptionist Linda. We've been shown around as to what we could make use of and explained how to make use of the facilities offered. The surprise Watsu treatment for my wife was the tip of the iceberg just a pity... The Spa is the best place to reboost and disconect in the heart of the city. Great profesionals for the treatments. Amazing atmosphere full of selected lights, dry fruits, warm thee. Suprinsing swimming pool! A piece of heaven on earth!

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
