Nice, if rundown, windmill that makes for a decent photo opportunity. Even better - there's a fantastic microbrewery operating right below it that serves great beer and cheap snacks. Worth a detour.

This windmill stands out like a sore thumb and of course it's exciting to see a real windmill but it's very run down and its big draw card now is the pub underneath it. The pub itself isn't much of anything but the locals seem...More

Windmills for tourists are not plentiful; so if you want to go home and brag about having seen one, this might be your last chance! So, do it!!

We spotted the windmill from the Science Centre at the harbour and decided to visit. Unfortunately, we were looking out the wrong side of the tram and missed it! Worth coming back for as it is a stunning sight, with a great pub next door.

We took the number 14 tram out to the De Gooyer Windmill. Takes about 15 mins. It's worth a visit in my view. A very impressive structure. You can't go in so it's more of a photo opportunity but with the brewery next door you...More

This was a beautiful Windmill to see and we found that it is also the tallest in the country. It is over 400 years old!

De Gooyer- tallest wooden mill in Netherlands is worth a visit if you want to take a break away from the main touristy attractions. But its just a mill and there is nothing much to do around. A guided tour could make your trip more...More

This windmill has been in this spot since 1814. It's the tallest wooden windmill in the Netherlands. I got to see it the first time from the HOP-ON HOP-OFF bus tour and managed to see it a few more times before we left Amsterdam. It...More

My boyfriend and I visited the De Goober windmill this past week, and its a great opportunity to see and photograph a historic icon of Dutch culture without leaving the city. As an added bonus, at the base of the windmill is a brewery, serving...More

The windmill is really impressive and a chance for a great photo, but that's pretty much it, it's a bit out of the way from the city centre, but the hop on hop off bus stops over the road from it

I didn't go into the windmill, either. I don't think you can. I saw it on the hike I took to the Maritime Museum. I expect the Brewery has a website and you can google that. Wish I could be more helpful.

Does anyone know if the blades have been put back on the windmill? I want to visit, but if the blades are missing, then I need to look elsewhere. Thanks!
