We were only a group of three, including two kids, and received the full fledge tour, explanation and hands-on experience on the cheese making and wooden shoe making. Great value away from the large(r) tourist groups

We visited just the wooden shoe factory. What an experience! The demonstration was quite unreal. We were amazed at the engineering of the machinery to make the clogs. Who knew they were waterproof? Though a little pricey for our budget, we are sure they are quite comfortable. We did purchase some Christmas ornaments from the shop.

Nice place to visit and spend a while. Cheese making explanation (no demo) and a view around the dairy. Clog making demo was excellent, yes I cannot believe I am saying that! I must admit that I wasn't looking forward to it, but the chap doing the demo with very funny and explained the process well. Many surprising facts. Recommended.

Just before you get to Volendam there is a Cheese and Clog retail outlet without the crowds. They have two separate venues for the cheese and clogs and sales assistants are in attendance in traditional clothing. A good variety of items are available for purchase in a variety of sizes and quantities. The facility is clean and well kept.

We had an enjoyable time here learning how Gouda and Edam cheese is made and also watching a clog being made. There are a large variety of clogs to buy and cheeses in various sizes. Try the 2 year old Gouda, It's excellent.

We went there to taste cheese and buy some to take home. But 5 minutes after we arrived a large buss with loads of people arrived. They all had a tight schedule so they rushed around. We left.

Great place to discover how cheese is made and to see how wooden shoes used to be made. The cheese tasting is worth the stop by itself. We carried some back to the US with us. The shoe making demo was both fun and informative. The young man doing the demo did a running monolog during the demo which kept your attention while laughing.

We had an interesting talk about how cheese is made and they made it enjoyable for children too, by involving them a bit in the talk. We had a chance to taste a variety of cheese that was on offer in the shop too. We enjoyed looking at the sheep in the field nearby. It was a great place to stop by!

Buying cheese from a shop on a farm must be nicer than buying from one in a main street. True, it is part of a very large (private) concern and has the same large assortment as its more conventional stores. However, seeing actual cheeses AND CLOGS being made adds to the overall enjoyment. A large selection of typical Dutch souvenirs is also on offer. This is a very popular stop for coach parties - understandably and deservedly so..

The cheese is absolutely gorgeous! The demonstrations (cheese making as well as the famous wooden shoes) are fun and very professional. Go here for a great Dutch experience...
