As many of you may know, this windmill is the replica of an old-fashioned windmill. It is very unique. I passed it while walking around the city, it's just nice to look at.

This was the view from my hotel room. I couldn't wait to visit. It is a beautiful mill and it is closed to the public.

Molen de Put is a 1987 replica of an old fashioned windmill located near a walking bridge over the Galgewater (the Leiden sweet water harbour). It can be visited inside for free on Saturday (maybe also on other days ...)

A symbol of the city. Easy to see from the distance, it has to be described probably as "iconic". Very typical and still unique. I enjoyed its view a lot.

This windmill caught our eye while we walked along a canal in Leiden. It is a replica of the original windmill. The style is different from the other windmills we saw in The Netherlands. Of course, we had to take a photograph.

This is not the original windmill but worth a view if in the area. Got some great photos with the environment surrounding the windmill. Kinderdyke is now far away with 19 working windmills, but if time doesn't permit a visit this is a special site to see.

Based on the history of the mill, this is a replica of an old windmill dated back to 1619 and the current mill is located in the north end of the town near the Rembrandt Bridge, opposite to the Molenmuseum De Valk. It is interesting to learn about the function and the history of windmill as part of the Netherlands'... More

Nice windmill but keep in mind that this is a recently build replica of the windmill owned by Rembrandt's family. Stop by after you visit the Morspoort, but head to the de Valk windmill where you can enter and see the living section and the mechanical works.
