Do not expect much from this site which is ridiculous in many ways.
The Boijmans museum is closed for renovations and you can only glimpse at very few so called highlights from its rich collections.
The few paintings that are displayed are under glass with countless reflections making it impossible to see clearly let alone taking pictures.
To add insult to injuries the Depot makes it mandatory to get their expensive tickets online then suggests guided tours requiring visitors to don silly white robes.
Other artifacts are shown in glass cages suspended in the elevators atrium equally impossible to see.
Do not spend time or money to take part in this disgraceful charade.

Takes 30 min to see everything.
The free tour gets you inside a locked room with "art" and guide tells info.
Tour takes 30 min.
€20 for a total of 60 min pp, not worth it

Let's start with a positive note: the architecture is really good from the outside. And it is free of charge.
However, when you enter the building the impression changes. Ticket price was 20 euros. It is called a depot, but on each floor there is only little space where art is displayed. Two windows on each floor where you can see some artwork on shelves plus some display cases. The very few artworks that are displayed ranges from some 16/17. century jars to most modern ones. Information is only given via a separate app that you need to download. On one of the floors is a large room which was completely empty (this could have been a good space to actually display some of the artworks). Why this was left empty is inconceivable. On each of the floors were quite a few doors which were all closed (even the emergency exits were locked). On the last floor was a bistro (which I did not try out) and the roof terrace. Since they urged me to leave the jacket in the locker at the basement, it was to cold to stay outside for too long (in April). You get a better view from the Euromast anyway.
I recommend to stay outside and get some nice pictures of the building and the mirrored skyline and spend the money elsewhere.

Impressive building especially on the outside. Impressive views from the roof garden but the experience inside was somewhat disappointing. We just turned up expecting to see far more exhibits than were on show. It is basically a storage and work unit and although you can make arrangements to see more exhibits and the work done there this has to be done in advance. Our on spec visit off a cruise ship was not the best way to see the Depot at its best and our experience was expensive for what it was.

Not a very interesting collection, and I found it to be very overpriced. I think it took a lot off my experience that the entry process was so bad. We bought our tickets online in advance, but upon entering there is not really a ticket line or a clear way to go in and show your tickets, so it took a long time before I discovered the impolite ways of the other guests, and that it was just necessary to ‘use your elbows’ to get in. The staff was kind of rude, and there was a general feeling, that they were afraid we would steal something or misbehave. Which is a bit funny, because I don’t know what anybody would want to steel in there. Let’s be honest: this is not exactly The Louvre. But, as I mentioned, had the overall experience been better, I might have found the art in there more interesting. But I was in a foul mood during the whole visit

Part art warehouse and part museum in a unique amazing building. Hard to describe but worth a trip. Highlight was one room of valuable art hung with the backs exposed.

Very highly recommended. Stunning building, externally and internally. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Loved the fact that in most exhibits there is no placard (you can find it out easily using the app). You are engulfed by the art and see it for what it is, not in the way art is exhibited.
Well worth a trip to Rotterdam.

The new art depot of the museum Boymans has been made an interesting destination in itself. A magnificent building - for the engineer the heavy doors at the ground level are worthy of a spaceship! A real archive building but with lots of attractive art on display. And a fantastic rooftop with a restaurant and a garden with fabulous views of Rotterdam. Very much worth a visit!

The main museum is currently closed, but I suspect it will be outstanding when reopened. They currently have the 'depot' open. The building itself is spectacular. and worth looking at form the outside on a nice day. However, there are not many pieces pieces on display. The admission ticket includes a short interesting tour/discussion of storage of artifacts. However, tours are limited, and if you do not get there early you may find them unavailable, greatly reducing the value of the ticket

The Depot housing the collection of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, which is currently under renovation, is a truly unique repository of art (and I’ve been to zillions of museums). It’s well worth a visit if you’re in Rotterdam. We had doubts about coming here due to reviews that mentioned vertigo. However, the striking building has two big glass elevators—there’s no need to walk up scary stairs! In addition to the objects, there are videos, wall labels, glass windows into conservation labs, etc., that provide insight into the museum’s collection, storage, preservation, and display of artworks. Galleries on the upper floors present some of the greatest hits, including a Kusama mirrored room, and other works by world-class artists. The view from the rooftop is priceless! We're glad we bought inline tickets and didn’t miss this special place.

Hello,
I would like to go in Rotterdam just 3 days, and i'm looking for a place to sleep 2 nights.
I will come with ma familly, so it means we are 4, but we also have a dog... Do you accept to welcome my dog in your hotel?
If you accept it, how much does it cost ?
Thanks,
Shawnee
