We went on a tour on the last day of our trip to the Netherlands.
We had stayed in Rotterdam for the week but we also spent some time in Amsterdam during our holiday.
We took a watertaxi over to the stadium from central Rotterdam, which is a really nice way to get there.
The Feyenoord tour started from the club shop where the guide made sure everyone was there. Me and my wife explained we only spoke English at this point and a few other guests said the same thing to the tour guide. At this point he reassured us that he would start the tour in Dutch, but then translate into English.
Unfortunately this wasn't really the case - the majority of the tour was in Dutch and when he asked if we had any questions, it was quite difficult to ask questions as we weren't sure what he had been talking about for the majority of the tour.
I appreciate that Dutch is the native language, but when the guide could speak English well, it felt a bit like he could have told us so much more. There were many times he had the Dutch speaking crowd laughing and the one time he told a joke or two in English, he got a good laugh from all of us.
We had a couple of English speakers behind us that had a Dutch speaker with them, who was translating. It was more like we were getting the tour from her and she said that he was speaking so fast in Dutch that it was difficult to translate so quickly.
As Feyenoord played Sturm Graz in the Europa League the night before, unfortunately the home dressing room was unavailable as part of the tour.
The stadium is lovely and I'm glad I went, but it could have been so much better with a bit more interaction with our guide.
Having done the tour at Ajax a day before, it was a very different experience. Ajax offer self guided tours throughout the day, whereas Feyenoord offer guided tours with limited availability.
The tour staff at Ajax were very friendly and so, so helpful. Whilst our guide wasn't a bad guide, it just felt like there could have been more effort to speak more to us and we would have enjoyed it more. When you only offer guided tours, this is even more important. When you offer self guided, such as Ajax, you can go around at your own pace and ask as many questions as you like. Unfortunately this wasn't the case at Feyenoord.
After the tour, we went into the club shop. You get a 10% discount with the tour in the shop, so I bought a home shirt, as these are only available in the club shop and I wanted something to remember my trip to Rotterdam by.
The staff in the club shop were really friendly and I had a nice chat with them person behind the counter about football. He also helped with sizing for products and any other queries I had.

I’ve been here several times now and the atmosphere at the football is something to savour. It’s very old school football with beer and smoking allowed and if you can get into the Vak S section be sure to get into the “nightclub” downstairs at half time...but beware, it does get a bit crazy. For atmosphere and history you really should take a look at this stadium. It also has the club shop and the teams training ground only a 5 minute walk away.

an iconic football stadium. beautiful architecture. And yet, dear visitor of Rotterdam, don't visit. The stadium isn't in walking distance in an unattractive part of Rotterdam. Google a few pics and use your time better to visit other places. This city has much more to offer.

It is not the biggest stadium I ever saw in my life. But it looks great! We had an excursion over this stadium and it was very interesting to see VIP seats, room where press conference is usually kept, dressing room for football players, tunnel which players follow before the game starts, museum of stadium history with all their exhibits. Shortly - amazing place.

This is a pre war Footbal/Soccer stadium of one of the biggest clubs in the Netherlands. Great to watch the game, but ugly and old for everything else. If you're not Dutch and you don't have a heart for Feyenoord it will be a complete waste of your time. Also in a horrible part of Rotterdam.

A trailblazer stadium of its time when it was built in the 1930s, this football amphitheatre is home to the 1971 European Cup winners Feijenoord. There's talk of replacing it with a more modern ground, but the Club's fans retain a strong affection for the old 'Tub' as it's nicknamed, and it's easy to see why.Its stands, of uniform height, tower right around the pitch, contributing to a fantastic atmosphere when full of home fans by helping to amplify the noise of support for the team, while there's a clear view of the action on the park from all around the ground, due to the lack of obstructive support pillars. This design was revolutionary in its day and was the forerunner of other great grounds, including Barcelona's Camp Nou. The day I visited was an Open Day before the start of the 2015-2016 season and as I left the ground after an hour, despite the very wet weather that day, it was still filling as more supporters arrived to see newly signed players landing on the pitch by helicopter. Later that afternoon, local radio stations were advising that the ground had reached maximum capacity. Easy to reach from the city centre by tram and bus, and with its own railway station, this is one ground foreign supporters should make a point of visiting when in Rotterdam, and is one of the city's prime attractions.

Since I was 5 years old I've been a Feijenoord fan.. I've been to de kuip many times, even been on the tour and now that I am older and busy with other things I still follow the teams results.
The stadium has a lot of history, it is one of the oldest and biggest stadiums in the Netherlands, for a long time it has been the stadium where the Dutch team played their home matches and it hosted many European finals. It may not (yet) be in accordance with the latest standards of what is expected of soccer stadiums, but what it lacks it makes up in atmosphere!. You should watch a match of Feijenoord against Ajax, PSV or one of the other Dutch "top" teams to understand what I mean.
Due to a change in the UEFA/ FIFA policy Dutch soccer lost the connection with the absolute top of Europe, it meant that money decided who will win th EL or CL by buying as many players as possible, however when it comes to talents Feijenoord (and I hate to admitt it.. AJAX) are still at the top, also because they have top schools. To give just one example Robin van Persie came from there!.
Feijenoord has a small museum, what can I say about it... Feijenoord is the first and last Dutch team to win a European Cup (Ajax is the club that won most).
If you like soccer (and soccer history) then this is a nice place to visit.

Great atmosphere! Best fans in the world. Always behind their team. Even after a big defeat against rivals PSV the stadium was packed and the crowds were cheering!

Went for a friendly game.
View from seats fine though would not want to be in first few seats in away in(plastic screen).
Three flights os stairs to away end. Didn't seen any disabled access.
Free travel on tram 23 with match ticket.
Entrance to away end at railway station

has anyone been an away fan in the home seats during an international here - given 5% of the capacity is all thats allocated to the away fans for an upcoming Nations League match and i probably wont be able to get one of those, I'm contemplating buying a ticket amongst the dutch fans
If it was a feyenoord match i wouldnt risk it but I'm wondering if it will be safe and friendly for an international
would appreciate hearing form anyone who has done it

Is section C in De Kuip safe for foreigners to watch the game?
Written January 13, 2020
To park in the parking garage, do you have to have a ticket to a match? We’re hoping to attend the match on 21.3.2019 (Oranje v Belarus) and just want to see when and how long we can park there. Thank you!

You should take the tram and park elsewhere. Carpark Boston-Seatlle Q-parking at the Wilhelminaplein and than take tram 12 or tram 23. They will stop at the stadion

You can book a stadiumtour via the official website of the stadium.
Better still is buying a ticket. You can buy a ticket from the Feyenoord website. The season starts this August so hopefully you're in luck.

What are the rules about what you can carry in to a game? Are backpacks allowed?
Written June 4, 2017
Not a strange question at all. I am not opposed to being checked. I was simply wondering if backpacks were allowed to be carried in. I found a nice lady while walking in to ask. Thanks anyways.
