Definitely worth the visit. We only paid for the museum and did not pay for the boat or the hop on hop off. You can actually walk and look at all of the windmills without paying anything, but I do recommend you pay to go into the windmills. It is really cool to see inside. Also, make sure you buy... More

Amazing to see a great piece of dutch history. I would recommend renting or taking your own bicycle.

We loved staying in modern Rotterdam, but it was amazing to take the boat ride up the river and get off Kinderdijk! The large area that spans dozens of canals and at least a dozen windmills. These aren't just antique things to look at, you get to learn about the history of the amazing people that built them and why.... More

I love how they have preserved the place. It has a very special feel. Being a world heritage site, it is a must see!

Visited here on our last day in Holland as we really wanted to see some historical windmills. It is a beautiful site and a wonderful experience. I wouldn't pay to take the boat...if I was going again I'd walk and save myself E20... I believe you can walk around the site without paying to go into the windmills.

My husband and I were really looking forward to seeing the beautiful windmills at the world heritage UNESCO site. We thought this boat tour would be a great way to travel there while learning something about Rotterdam (as compared to public transit). However there are a few problems with this tour: 1) They actually tell you minimal information about the... More

Today's technological advances have made the windmills all but extinct. When someone says Holland, you envision windmills, tulips, and wooden shoes. However many windmills have been taken down. It's free to just walk around the windmills, if you want to go inside it is a small fee and for a bit more you can take a boat ride. If you... More

It is actually far from Rotterdam Centraal, you need to take metro/buses to reach there, take about an hour plus. Best option is taking the boat ride, about half an hour but the time slot is quite bad and the ferry point is about 15 minutes walk from the centraal, you may need to wait for 1 to 2 hours... More
