The museum consisted of a series of glass displays, which had interesting historical items placed chronologically. You pick up a booklet with descriptions of each item and what role they play in the history of Rotterdam. It was very educating and fascinating, though I felt...More

A small but deeply poignant museum with one of the best interactive audio visual films I have seen. Very powerful and many artefacts to see. English titten guides are available on request.

This museum has focus on WW2 and explains why the centre of Rotterdam is so beautiful and so modern. Central Rotterdam has taken the opportunity to become an amazing city in direct contrast to Amsterdam.

The place is hard to find. It is behind the state house. Although very small there are some good ideas and exhibits here. The positive is a very affable staff. The guys standing around are great. The people who designed this are totally incompetent. Firstly...More

Extensive collection of artifacts of the German occupation of Rotterdam. Photos, ration cards, secret radios, posters for the food kitchens (many starved in the winter 1944-45). English translation available for most of the history. The extent to which people were hungry and miserable, as opposed...More
