This gem is tucked away a few blocks from the square. The first thing we saw as we entered was the courtyard of statues. You can spend quite a bit of time looking at just the statues, and the story that is told from them. Inside the church, the view is incredible. The craftsmanship on the wood working and design... Entry was 6 Euros, but was closed when we visited as a mass was taking place. Still, it was possible to enter and stand at the rear of the church if you didn't want to take mass. The views were still stunning, and you got to see an awful lot of the church for free! Worth a look inside.

Dear RoyalNavy1964, I think you have written about another church (Cathedral?). Sint-Pauluskerk has a free entrance and is open from 1 april until the 1 of november from 14.00 till 17.00 h. Only during a Mass (wedding for example or funeral) it might be possible that you not can enter the church. During winterperiod we are open on saterday and... More

This church has a couple of great paintings (Rubens, Van Dyck, Jordaens, etc.) and a nice restored interior. Access is free. There is a guide at the entrance, ready to answer all your questions. He knows a lot about the history of the chucrh. He even opened the gangway to what what the entrance to the old dominican convent. The... More

Inside the beautiful paintings of Rubens, Jordaens, Van Dyck (and, just to let you know, Napoleon took some to France and the Caravaggio went to Vienna...) and don't forget to visit the 'garden' with the beautiful statues

Really nice church with beautiful paintings and sculptures in the inside. On its right there is a small courtyard filled with statues that really impresses you. It is also free, not like the big cathedral

Outside this church there is an awesome looking section called the Calvary. The inside looked pretty ordinary for a church, to me. But the treasury had some nice atems on display, including a small bird jewel, reputedly one of the oldest worked diamonds from Antwerp.

Wood carving along all the wall. Wooden statues in the church as wall for confession boxes. Passion of Christ paintings from all different masters. Stone statues in the garden. Smaller but so much better than the big cathedral(s). You'd have to confess if you visit Antwerp and negate this one

We nearly missed this as we arrived a bit before it opened and were going to walk on until a local lady saw us checking our map and kindly stopped to ask if we needed help navigating. She was very knowledgeable and proud of her city and talked us through some of the best spots to visit. She recommended waiting... More

Getting the chance to see these amazing paintings (located here during the renovation of the art museum) in their intended location was amazing. Traveling in Europe can make you a little "cathedral weary" but if the paintings are still here when you visit, it's definitely worth the small entry fee. Without the paintings, we may not have enjoyed it quite... More

I think Saint Paul's Church isn't the church to which you refer. We have no paintings located from a museum. We do have the Antwerp school with Rubens, Jordaens, Van Dijck, Teniers etc. but they are part of the collection of the church. But which church you may have visited, I am glad you enjoyed it! Hope to meet you... More
