Good brewery tour, 50/50 museum & modern brewery
Sep. 2021 • Solo
This tour is a mix of museum and modern brewery. Lots of steps if you have mobility issues. I booked an English tour, but the tour was in Dutch. If you need a specific language, you should call and verify. Following the 45 minute tour, you visit the guesthouse and get to try the beer. We received two different pours, 25 cl each I think. There is an on-site restaurant and pub if you want to try more. Each guest also receives a branded glass.

Incredible nice brewery tour with tasting!

What a great tour given by Jan today! I was very grateful as he did incredible job joggling Dutch and English - so that my non-Dutch speaking parents could fully enjoy this tour! Fun, lively, amazing storyteller - gem of a guide! Tour is super interesting and Gouden Carolus is definitely worth your time-trust me! We'll be back for more!!

The tour is very interesting, well planned. Bob, our tour leader made the experience really fun and instructive. Learned lots about how high quality beers are made. Had great time.

One of the oldest brewery in Belgium
Jun. 2019
The tour was really well planned and the guide was really knowledgeable.

The place has a history and the building has maintained that way. The duration of the tour is appropriate.

The tour guide we had spoke good English and was able to understand most of it. I have done man brewery tours before but this was different from others.

We also did the tour to the whiskey place and it was also great.

Good tour and good food
Jan. 2020
Road trip from Brussels mainly for this tour. The tour was good, some of the most interesting things we saw were how they stored the barrels from the distillery here. Most of this tour was like a museum and not the actual brewing rooms, a little disappointed in that part. The tasting was good and met some great people on the tour, we were a little rushed to leave the tasting room because another group was coming in behind us. We had lunch here with our new found friends from the tour and the food was really good, a little pricey but very good.

Game changer
Feb. 2020 • Family
Jan completely changed my opinion of Belgian beer. His knowledgeable and enthusiastic explanation and tour made me realise that both science and art are at play in the brewery. The alcohol content is important for flavour and not just effect. The insight was excellent, but the tour was a bit light on seeing the production in action. However, the tasting and lunch afterwards was fab. Well worth a visit!

Tour around one of Belgiums oldest brewries
Apr. 2019
It’s a historic place and you get to se the true nature of the building but not the actual brewing process too much. The guide describes this in Flemish in-depth but then only skirts the subject in English so you don’t get a full understanding unless you speak Dutch. Was a good couple of hours and I’d recommend it but read up first and then enjoy the free beer at the end. At this point they give you tasting tips which you will use for the rest of your live.

Awesome Brewery and Distillery Tour!
Jan. 2020 • Friends
We did both the brewery and distillery tours, about 3 hours together, and both guides were fun and knowledgeable. Fascinating insight into the processes and history of beer and whiskey made here, and to taste some of them was nice! Prices in the gift shop and restaurant are reasonable too, so we stopped for a beer and bought some to take home. Had a great time visiting this!

Tour

We went here sort of last minute and were asked if we wanted to do a tour. Of course we wanted that. The tour guide (Jan) was amazing guiding us and was super passionate about the job. At the end of the tour, we were able to taste two of their beers, which tasted great! Overall, worth to go to!

Excellent beers and Good atmosphere
Nov. 2019
We went there at 21.30 and unfortunately the kitchen was closed from 21.00. So we were not able to taste anything. A young waiter was kind enough to offer us (for free some sloces of bread and cheece!) But we had the chance to taste beers from the brewery. The atmosphere around was cozy and relaxing.
