Nice location not too far from the stock exchange great for people watching. We expected just okay food since it seemed to be more of a bar, but we were pleasantly surprised! Great service. We really enjoyed this meal. The Belgian Trilogy and another meal with the chicken stew and pomme frites.

This is a fantastic café bar in a wonderful area of Brussels that is packed with some fabulous pubs, bars and restaurants. El Metteko has a wonderful interior with an art deco look, superb decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling streets around this area. We had just been... More

We went in at 5.40pm and were told food was not served until 6pm however people who looked like locals were served before 6pm. When we did eventually get served for food (1 waitress covering the whole place) and the food arrived we were tucking in to the food which was awful may I add, the waitress came and asked... More

we stopped here for a beer and it felt like a place the locals hang out in. Typical Brussels spot for coffee/beer/snacks, it was packed but had good turnover of tables. Staff were super efficient, fast and responsive.

I have been here with some friends during a match of the European football championship. As we arrived we ordered 6 beers. As I haven't been to Belgium for a while I was craving for some Belgian beer. When the waitress arrived, she had 5 plastic glasses! We asked for proper glasses but we were told the the place was... They had a little sign on the sidewalk advertising the Plat du Jour, 9.90 euro. Steak, with house sauce, salad and fries. For 9.90, I'm in. The place is exactly what you imagine a Bistro is in your mind. A bunch of tables outside and in, a bar along one wall, some booths opposite and lots of mirrors. Then I... More
