Fun hitten gem

The beer is good abd service to. A fun hitten gem in brussels. Almost walked past it but lucky I didn't.

Located in a tiny alley close the Grand Place / rue du boucher, Royal Theatre Toone is a true landmark. Get familiar with the history of this old Brussels' puppet theatre before going so it will all make more sense to you. They offer a very decent list of traditional Belgian beers and the location is dim but cosy. If... More

Lovely, cosy tavern! We had a great time sampling many different beers, surrounded by the marionettes

Called in last week, the "theatre" is covered in dust, hasn't seen use in decades, not many in, average selection of beers, call in if you are nearby otherwise not worth a special visit.

ROYAL THEATRE TOONE is one of the most unique taverns your likely to visit in this wonderful city. A puppet theatre but with a really interesting bar. Entering and your struck by the superb decor with puppets and puppet posters spread throughout the bar and a mix of beer posters and enamels around the walls,a cute serving bar and plenty... More

After my terrible dinner at Le Calawhatever.. I ran out without leaving a tip and saw the interesting sign for Toone theatre.. Even though I didn't see a show I was so warmly welcomed and felt right at home in the cosy, chatty bar I was happy to just sit and soak in the atmosphere.. Puppets are really cool! What... More

We only visited due to the reviews on trip Adviser and what a wonderful place this is. An unusual and quirky place with puppets and posters of the shows around the walls. The bars are fairly small but the beer is very different with us tasting orange and cherry beer. Very different and a must to visit. Would love to... More

It's really a puppet theatre but you enter through the very popular bar area. Wooden tables and benches can make this a very social place! It is not far from Grand Place and down an ally off Petite Rue des Bouchers. Didn't see the puppets which I am told are very traditional but a good range of beer and snack... More
