This is not a museum in the traditional sense: the museum itself is actually the house that Victor Horta built for himself in the late 1890s, which truly exemplifies the Art Nouveau style that made Horta into one of the most acclaimed architects in...more

Not the best of Horta's works, but worth a stop by. I don't like the decoration style of this one though.

Things to know before you go: They have very limited hours, so be prepared to get there at the opening. BE PREPARED TO QUEUE (line up, for those from America). The museum is not a museum in the traditional sense- it's the guy's house, so...More

This is a must see. You couldn't live like this but as an aspiration and an illustration of how life could be lived back then, well, we can all dream!

This is one of the most interesting small museums that showcase the work of Horta, a Belgian Gaudi of sorts. Spend a lovely hour touring the multi-storey museum house and exploring its fine details.

This house was everything I dreamed it would be. Horta was a genius and his designs are beautiful - furniture, light fixtures, stair rails. Definite bucket list item.

If you like Horta and Art Nouveau you'll definitely want to visit. That said, for someone with very limited knowledge of...More

If you don't have time to do a walking tour of all the art nouveau sites in Brussels, it's worth making the trip out to St. Gilles to see Horta's house/studio where you can get a sense of his style and enormous talent. We expected...More

We made a trip in October with the kids to see this place as I love the Art Nouveau movement. Got there just after opening time at 2pm (check times before you go!) there was a small queue, but nothing outrageous. Quite reasonable entry prices...More

Sorry for the delay, but hopefully this helps others. Definitely early in the morning, and you're right the queue can become long. Also, if you really like architecture, an hour is short to spend in the home. But you can... More
