So much to choose from, where to start and where to finish. Shops filled with lovliness. Outdoors, beautiful floral work in abundance, architecture, life.

Where the Belgians strut their stuff... about the last place left in the centre where they still do. Wittamer the patissier remains unjustifiably snobby and expensive, Costermans the antiquaire retains its glorious (and for most of us inaccessible) display of the finest antiques, au Vieux...More

This was a favourite haut on previous visits and it's still beautiful - but it's in decline. There are still some unique shops, but more for browsing, than buying. It needs a boost, but not by allowing mass market 'stack it high, sell it cheap'...More

Very cute "Place" with all the chocolateries you can imagine. You must go there have a coffee and try some chocolates. My personal favorite is Wittamer.

Unless, its a market day, then the centre of this triangular "square" is a car park. Yes, the shops are often designer ones / antiques / sushi bars but its not worth a trek out to find to be honest.

We went there on a Sunday for the antiques market, and we were not at all disappointed. I have added a review about that market separately. If you have difficulties walking, you need to contemplate taking a city bus up there.

It is a Perfect Place to look for jewellery, antiques, paintings etc. on the stalls there and then have a light lunch or something similar at one of the Nice cafes there. Surprised that so little has changed there since I lived in Brussels Close...More

Don't miss the square, with its restaurants, bars and antique shops; the cathedral: the lovely Petit Sablon park, with statues of local heros.

Being seen in Sablon is still the big thing. It is a nice square with many small shops, some nice furniture shops, cafes etc. It is nice but a bit overrated. There is an oyster cafe at the corner. There is a tea shop which...More
