What a waisted trip to the place! Friday evening and it was closed! Fiasco or bankruptcy? There is a post on Brussels.com but should be updated and mentioned that the place is not working

The small front restaurant is quite unbelievable. The staff almost outnumbered the guests. The general (much larger) restaurant has been visited often and is excellent.

The decor and original furniture are beautiful but the service is slow and unfriendly and the food is not worth the wait at all. To see the place I'd have a drink at Mangakat upstairs and avoid the restaurant all together.

The building is an art deco masterpiece, and a great place to catch up with your colleagues after a meeting. The food seemed pretty good too.

Went in early august and the place had a sign outside saying that it was re-opening as a club in mid August. Given its checquered past, this wasn't a great surprise.

Alas, the food could not match the great splendour of the Art Noveau interior of the restaurant: the fish soup was badly underseasoned and could have had more fish, shrimps, or mussels in it, whereas the saddle of lamb needed more to accompany it. The bread was of an inidfferent quality. The waiter had great difficulty in answering the simplest... More

we visited this place with a group. The food in this place is nothing special but could be worse, the main reason I advise everyone to avoid this place is because they mess with drinks... refilling small bottles of tonic with cheaper stuff, replacing gin with something... unknown, was it wodka? The housewine was the cheapest they could get, terrible.... More

I was in Brussels on business, staying a few blocks away and decided to check out De Ultieme Hallucinatie by myself on Thursday evening around 9pm. The restaurant is in an old art nouveau townhouse and even the drainage grate on the sidewalk outside, and every little piece of hardware in the place is in the art nouveau style and... More

I was in Belgium for business last month and was recommended to visit the Ultimate Hallucination. It's a little way out of the centre of Brussels but well worth the trip. A beautiful place, with the bar area entirely kitted out in green. I ordered the beef carpaccio for a starter which was utterly delicious, and very well presented. The... More

The Ultimate Hallucination is definitely a one-of-a-kind experience. It's housed in a former home, with Art Nouveau decoration from 1904 pretty much intact. This is not a Disney-fied, re-made version of Art Nouveau; this is the real thing, faded but very clean. You get the idea that little old ladies lived here and never changed the decor, even as the...
