A museum filled with lots of interesting artefacts as well as well produced interactive exhibits including video viewers which you can select your language for and sit quite comfortable to watch. The footage shown is well made and the museum is set out in a logical, user friendly way. All looks very well maintained and modern set in a gorgeous... More

Former luxury hotel, built in the 18th century and neighbour of the royal palace, transformed into a museum. Used to be a stuffy and boring museum on the monarchy but eventually got a much needed reorganisation. Interesting historical themes and timelines combined with different objects and artefacts. The use of screens to explain the objects is very helpful. Recommended if... More

This is honestly of the best attractions in Brussels. It cost us 8 euros (we were under 25) which included entrance to Coudenberg too - the castle ruins. If you unsure of Belgium's history like us, this is perfect. It breaks down the history of Belgium perfectly with each room having a theme i.e. Languages, religion vs. the state. It... More

This revue will be very personal to me, purely because I generally hate museums and get bored within seconds. It's normally the same old same old and you find yourself switching off very quickly.........but not here! I genuinely wanted to learn more about Brussels and it's history, how it came about and the part it's played in the world since... More

We chanced upon this lille gem as we took a Sunday stroll past the Royal Palace. There was a cartoon expo on which showcased "the great history of little Belgium by 22 Belgian press cartoonists. It was hilarious! The Belgians do have a dry sense of humour and are able to send themselves up! We love the satire and the... More

Great museum, very interactive and informative. Very well priced at €5 if you are aged between 18-25. Would highly recommend for a history of Belgium! All information is available in four languages and you are given a booklet to provide further information as you walk around.

This museum has been totally renovated and tells the story of Belgium in various themes eg politics, economics, immigration, and others. It is very interactive and interesting. There is an excellent restaurant and shop. There is a connected museum of a medieval street layout and palace underneath the existing city really interesting. Well worth a visit even if you have... Some intersting pieces of the private life of our past kings, that explain the life in XX century for the royal family. We visited it during a night event. It was rather fun as one part of the visit was in the underground part (old castel of Brussels). We recommend it, for kids, for senior, .. everyone can learn something... More
