Very picturesque architecture, some nice restaurants and EXCELLENT bars- there is a choice of 150 or so different beers- but, like all of Belgium, it's expensive; not eye-wateringly, but just be careful what you order. One of those places you'd definitely go back to.

We stayed in Ghent only because it was between Bruges and Brussels, and ended up liking it the best! Great young fresh vibe, awesome restaurants and bars, beautiful architecture, would go again in a heartbeat!

Maybe more significant buildings in a smaller central location while not so touristy even on a sunny Sunday. Easy to walk pedestrianised centre.

Lovely to experience this little city center. There are several impressive historical buildings: churches, castle, etc. all within a quick walk of each other.
