I always find this place quaint, peaceful and quiet. Maybe I just always went on the right time in the afternoon but never busy. Worth to just have a little look around.

Nice place, slightly crowded, very good meat and beer. Three people, three second plates (big, very big) water, three beers. Roughly 70€

Patershol is worth a detour. We all agree that this old town location where the poor and deprived once lived 300y or so ago and where its residents spoke their own slang whom nobody in Ghent could understand ! is now restored, and its narrow nicely repaved streets are clean and well-lit. You'll stroll and find those tiny houses' nice... More

This neighborhood has changed a lot over the past 15 years. Many buildings have been repaired and this is a very well kept historical neighbourhood. Nowadays many artists have left and their studios have been replaced by expensive restaurants.

Great restaurants and bars - just walk around to find your next meal! Many places are open post 11pm for dinner.

In the heart of Ghent city, close to the castle, you'll find a coherent unit of small streets and dito houses doomed to disappear in the early 70-ies and saved by actions of artists, students and labor communities. It became a place to be and a pittoresc historical venue. You'll find plenty of restaurants (some of them definitively worth a... More

Just aside the Gravensteen castle, are some small mediaval streets. Alleys with coble stones and picturesque small houses where you get lost. Several class restaurants are spread in this part of Gent. Even if you are not looking for a restaurant, it is a nice walk if you wear the proper walking shoes.

There are lots of great reports about Patershol but I found it to be the biggest disappointment of my visit. There is a great street running through the heart of the area full of restaurants, cafes and bars but the offshoot cobbled streets for which it is famed were a giant let down. they are filled with little 2 up...
