Belgium is famous for its frites—and the Friet Museum gives visitors a chance to sample fried potatoes and various complementary sauces, as well as typical Belgian dishes such as meat balls and beef stew. Digest a bit of learning and history along with your food at this educational spot, housed in a building that dates back to the 14th century.

The Belgians reckon they make the best fries in the world and when you see how much there is to say about potatoes and frying them I'm inclined to believe them. The theory is then confirmed by the discounted bag of fries which you can...More

The museum was just ok, although my children enjoyed the sticker trail and prize and loved the chips. It’s a shame that everything is cooked in beef fat, so there was nothing we vegetarians could eat.

Visited the Frietmuseum as part of our minihoneymoon on the Bruges minicruise. The €7 each entry is a fair price, the museum took around 45-60 mins to get around. Some fairly interesting facts, but xlargely underwhelming due to the amount displays that were a single...More

We bought the combo ticket for here and Choco-story. At 13 euros per person we felt this was very reasonable. We had a good laugh to ourselves, as french fry museum is every bit as quirky as it sounds. There is a lot of reading...More

This place needs an update. Such as tasting or smelling different kinds of potatoes, more videos instead of sign after sign. Plenty of possibilities with so many talented chefs in our country. The fries downstairs would probably taste better from any place outdoors rather than...More

I found the information fascinating. The information is laid out on large boards, and is probably aimed at children, it's still worth a visit. You also get a voucher towards buying some friets at the end of the tour. Which were very nice.

We bought a dual ticket with Chocco Story. My 5 year old liked this museum, there was a sticker activity pack to find around the museum which was good fun, but hard to find! It was interesting but more for younger children and families I...More

This was the most boring museum I have been in since my childhood. And that's quite some museums in 30+ years. And the fries in the restaurant downstairs are not even good. Staff behind the counter is bored, unfriendly (but does speak English) and is...More

I think it was 12 euros but I might be wrong. They offer a combined ticket so you can go to the chocolate experience too which works out more cost effective. I remember thinking it was a bit pricey but we did enjoy our... More
