Bruges' City Hall (1376) is one of the oldest in the Low Countries. It is from here that the city has been governed for more than 600 years. An absolute masterpiece is the Gothic Hall, with its late 19th-century murals and polychrome vault. The adjoining historic hall calls up the city council's history with a number of authentic documents and works of art. A multimedia exhibition on the ground floor illustrates the evolution of the Burg Square.

The main chambers was fabulous.

The medieval building and hall (counsel chambers?) is beautiful. Not much of a museum though and the entrance price a little high for what you see.

If traveling with friends to Brugge then the Town Hall is a great place to meet. Take a leasurely stroll; stop for something to eat/drink (plenty of choices); purchase beautiful lace which Brugge is known for. Highly recommended

Well worth a visit. There was a civil wedding ceremony going on whilst we were there, which was nice to see. Beautiful architecture. Ticket desk would not give us the over 65 concession because we had no proof of age on us, when it was obvious we were pensioners - a bit petty, we thought.

Wonderful building in the Burg - actually one of the oldest surviving buildings (construction began in third quarter of 13th century) in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. . Architecture is pure gothic and impressive. The facade itself is impressive: although they are modern replacements, the statues on the edifice (replaced after being defaced during the French Revolution)... More

Huge building in the center of the Town Square where locals can still get married on an afternoon (and throw confetti when they come out!)---we did not pay to take the tour of the building, but the lobby is worth going into just the same.

So, there's a sort of museum (Historium) inside and a shop but there's also a pub/beer shop Duvelarium which has got a balcony with splendid views of the square, best of all it's free and you can have a good beer ( you pay for Historium and they also boast a balcony with a view) anyway, a beautiful building

The Town Hall was built to impress and that it does. Like many ancient European buildings, is a beautiful and impressive piece of architectural work. It is the centerpiece of the Market Square. A must see!

Beautiful historical building. Inexpensive but wish there had been a commentary as the info cards were a bit dull.

Although the outside of the building is very elaborate for some reason I had not expected the interior to be so beautiful. If we had not had a city card we might have missed this interior but finding ourselves with time to spare over lunch we went in and were really impressed by the interior.

I was staying in a hotel just steps for this beautiful building, and I wound up paying the 4 euros to go inside. It was worth the price just to see the beautiful Gothic Hall. The hall featured some beautiful murals showing the history of Bruges. There were so many details to take in! The murals and carvings were all... More
