Visited Arentshuis as we received free entry with our Groeningemuseum tickets. The upper floor had works by the British artist Frank Brangwyn and was nice, although relatively small. The lower floor had an exhibition by a modern artist and was complete rubbish. Would not have paid to come in, but was fine as an add on to the Groeningemuseum

Nearby the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, is a small museum named Arentshuis. Curious, we paid to explore it. The main attraction was on the ground floor: a beautiful painting about the return of the Christ, or in other words the Apocalypse. Sadly, I couldn't find who painted it. I stayed there for at least 10 minutes, examining every details.... More

The Arentshuis is centered on this one fabulous painting by Hieronymus Bosch, 'The Last (or Final) Judgment'. One room gives some background information, the next has the painting. On the upper floor there is a large collection of paintings by Brangwyn. I never heard of the name, but the paintings and sketches looked very nice.

I enjoyed seeing the inside of the building, especially on the 1st floor. The entrance fee was part of the Groeninge Museum fee. The art on exhibit was not really to my taste. I do not know how often the exhibits change. I would expect to spend between 30 to 60 minutes here.

My wife spent a couple of days in Bruges (Brugge). We had purchased a multi-entry ticket, which for Euro 20 per person (regrettably no discount for seniors), turned out to be good value for money and covered a dozen museums and places of interest, including the Arentshuis art museum. It is a beautiful 18th Century building, with the ground floor... More

This is a very small gallery and most of the picture being exhibited when we were here were lines. Great if you are into modern art, but a bit boring if you're not.

I have always loved posters. They generally exaggerate life to sell, or advertise, something Here we viewed around 1700 Steinmetzkabinet posters of them from a collection of Groeninge (a temporary exhibit). Also, there is works by graphic artist and painter Frank Brangwyn as well as pieces by many other artists I think that this may be the best art museum... More

This museum is covered by the Bruges museum pass. It is very close to the Groeningemuseum so you can do the two museums at the same time The first floor contains sketches from the same collector as at the Groeningemuseum The second floor contains the Frank Brangwyn which my friend really liked. There were sketches, paintings, and furniture included in... More

Just two small floors here - the 1st floor houses a lot of Frank Brangwyn's work, the ground floor is given over to a temporary exhibit of prints acquired from a local collector. I enjoyed both. Only took me about half an hour, an enthusiast might take longer of course!
