This Guild existed for more than 600 years. Wow! Once I saw it, I was attracted by its lovely tower. Even though there was a wall that hindered me to see it completely, the tower was attractive. An very nice looking tower discovered by me by luck,when I was wandering on old street streets.There is aparantly a museum but it was close to visitors.But anyway worth a short visit.

This archers club is more than 600 years old and alive and kicking (easily two centuries older than the Royal & Ancient of St. Andrews). Although you can visit the place and the garden, the clubmen prefer to keep this place far from the madding crowd. After all, I can coop with their way of thinking, because nobody wants to see hunders of tourist with waffles and ice creams in your private Guild.

We rang the bell as instructed on the door. The man who opened it looked at us (my daughter and myself) in disbelief...we asked to visit the Guild. He answered 'NOOOOO!' It was 3pm and they were still 'cleaning up' after a dinner celebrated by the Members the previous evening...'Next time', he said! (As if one is always passing by...)... More

This is an Archery Guild which we read about and it is the most amazing place. We were very lucky to be invited in as they don't advertise and only usually show Archery Clubs around. The caretaker must have liked the look of us. The building is very discreet down by the windmills and you have to ring a bell... More
