Amazing place to get a great view of the town and great architecture too. When the bell rings, it's too loud so you need to protect your ears.

I think the only way to visit and climb the Belfry is by entering the In Flanders Fields Museum for an extra 2 euros. At the top there's amazing views of St Martins Cathedral and St Peters Church in the distance. There's over 230 steps...More

You have to tell the ticketing office that you wish to visit the belfry too, otherwise your band will not let you through the turnstile. There are a lot of steps but should be ok for most fit people.

Great views out in all directions with boards explaining the views. I found them difficult to follow. We stopped to hear the carillon at 3pm ..

I loved it! It is so beautiful, so imponent, the architecture is amazing and there are many places to sit and relax eating something!

Accessible via the museum, at an extra cost of two euros on top of the museum admission price but worth it for the views from the top. Plenty of steps to climb which will not suit some people.

The In Flanders Fields museum is well worth a visit on its own, but if you are able to take the challenge of some 200 steps, the Belfry is a gem. As you climb, there is a separate museum display in a room halfway up,...More

Well worth the climb to the top , some 300 steps , once on top the effort is worth it , the top commands a view of all the surrounding countryside ,

The entrance to the tower is very accessible through the Flanders Fielfd Museum. I was lucky with the sunny weather so I had a beautiful view over the city and the region. The walking parts on the roof are narrow, you can hardly pass anyone....More
