You will find this marker right along the highway and beside the railway track. There is a parking lot right beside it. There is also an information sign next to it so you can read why the marker is there. The floral baskets hanging from the train car are gorgeous!

Beautiful place to view, grab ice cream from across the road and check out the beauty. I live and Grimshaw and pass this daily and I'm always fascinated.

Quaint little park. Some history. A geocache or two. The little "Junction" Ice cream shop, right across the road, was a favorite stop.

Nice place to stop, there is a travel information center here as well and a beautiful park with benches so you can walk in the park or just sit and relax on one of the benches. Has now become a Pokeman Stop as well has a Pokeman Gym so sees a lot of activity.

A nice quiet park to walk around, look at some old stuff, contemplate the past then go for coffee. There are all sorts of place like this almost everywhere, just find one and enjoy.

The start of your trip north to Yellowknife is Mile Marker Zero of the Mackenzie Highway. There is an attractive monument and historical plaque where you can get your picture taken before you hear into the wilderness. There is a nearby park and trail and from the marker you can look south and west and see the Peace River Valley. A northern Alberta landmark not to be missed.

Stopped at the Mile Zero monument in Grimshaw AB on my tour of northern Alberta landmarks. The park was great as the walking trail had plaques depicting the history of building the Mackenzie Highway. Had a great pizza at a local restaurant and then went hiking at Lac Cardinal. The pioneer museum at Lac Cardinal was fantastic!
