We did a 4WD expedition through this area and to the waterfalls. The country side beautiful and the waterfalls gorgeous. My husband swam in the creek, bit too cold for me! Worth a visit as it is a very natural and untouched part of Papeete.

We hired a car for the day and drove around the island taking a trip in to see the waterfalls... the legend about the 3 waterfalls is great and was very entertaining for our kids. Sadly the bridge was closed and taped over so we...More

The pathway across the bridge was blocked off to prevent people from passing...but we just climbed over. It only takes a couple of minutes to walk to the falls from the parking lot and it became quite clear why they closed the path from the...More

If you have tpportunity to drive around Tahiti this is a sacred, legendary and special place. The fall drops from about 150 meters and runs year round but watch out if it rains. Give up if the road is impassable but don't miss it if...More

Wow. This is one of the coolest experiences we had in Tahiti. The road is still a little rough getting to falls after washout. The bridge does have a precautionary sign that there is trail damage but we carefully crossed the bridge and proceeded to...More

Accessible of the main road, this looks like it would have been cool (you can see a couple of the falls on the drive in). It’s 1-2 km off the main road and when we got to the end and got out there was a...More

The sound of the water falling is amazing and you can feel the spray on your face which is really good as it helps keep you cool. The waterfall is a really beautiful site and well worth seeing.

Very nice waterfalls, easy to reach by car. Shining under the sun, they deserve a visit. If you are on rush, you can skip them though.

Number 19 on the tourist map, this attraction is on the east coast, or black sand, side of the island and is well signposted with a red sail tourist sign. The approach from the main road is an interesting narrow lane that passes through a...More

The parking is up a narrow alley but from the parking lot they are an easy walk. Good story boards at this site.

Unfortunately I can't assist as I hired a car for the duration of my stay and saw the falls during a circumnavigation drive of the island. I hope someone else can advise you and that you enjoy your trip. Cheers, Greg.
