Photos and a quick stop don't do the place justice, you have to experience it sitting in the nearby cafe, watching life go by as this old roman structure stands still in time. It's well preserved and beautiful to look at.

If it's Roman I'm there. Not the most extensive but the sense of history abounds. Gotta see this in Evora

We enjoyed a quick visit while driving back to Madrid. Easy to explore the town on foot and to get a break from driving.

This was a gem in the middle of the city. Must see!! Our local guide told us that this is in fact a temple dedicated to Augustus and was misnamed so long ago.

Outstanding Roman temple at the top of the town. It is all lit up at night. It is all fenced off so one can’t get close to it.

This is a fascinating ruin right in the middle of the city! It really helps one realize the long (and oft-forgotten) important role Evora played in the history of the region.
