I enjoy history and to see these walls that have stood for so long after protecting the city, it is a humbling experience. So much to do in Evora!

I spent a few days in Evora, Portugal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and well deserved of the honor. The Roman-Medieval era walls are in tact in places and make it easy to imagine people living here long ago who must have depended on the...More

Walk inside or outside the 14th century city walls and feel the history. Run your fingers on the rocks and feel the passage of time, from the time they were built really as a kind of fortress protection to the tourist attraction they are today....More

The walls are massive and quite thick. Openings to get through are not very close together. We had hoped to be able to walk on the walls but never figured out how to do it.

We took a walk around the well-kept parks in which the Muralhas were located. And enjoyed their view from our hotel, M'ar de Ar. Recommended when you wish to stay in Evora,

The walls surround the city and can be found all around. Interesting and picturesque, but not pretty or special.

These are very well preserved walls. We found one place where the walls were incorporated into a park where you could walk on top of them and enjoy the views of the city and surrounding countryside.

If you haven't seen too many walls, this is a great place to see them. The inner city is enclosed in them.

We enjoyed walking around the walls of Evora. They really allowed us to understand what it would be like to live in a walled medieval city. The walls are in great condition and are huge when you stand beside them.

We enjoyed seeing the city walls in lots of locations around the old town. Many places have been integrated with the buildings. We walked alongside walls in the north of town but did not explore those in the south.

There is tons of free parking right outside the wall near the Jardin infantil (playground).
