Visited Montechoro Strip during the day with my daughter whilst on one of two day trips we made to Albufeira from our holiday base which was in Faro.
We walked the whole length of The Strip (not a huge area to be honest) which we...More
The strip is booming at night! I’ve been to benidorm, zante, magaluf etc and I was surprised at how good the strip was here! It’s much bigger than you’d expect and the bars are fantastic. There’s a bar for everyone, all different genres. Some have...More
It's not much to look at during the day to be honest although there are lots of shops, restaurants and very good pharmacy. However, it really comes into it's own at night. Bright and fun and noisy. More for a friends or couples holiday rather...More
Plenty of clubs to pick from, all suited to your music taste but predominantly R&B and house music - the usual type of music you’d expect on a night out. Travelling with a group of girls has its perks (although slightly gender biased) as club...More

The Strip is never totally closed as Albufeira is an all year round tourist attraction. However, when the weather starts to cool in October/November, some of the restaurants and bars do stop for the winter. December and January are the quietest months with only a few eateries open. Even so, you will always find a choice of places to eat across the Strip, the main high street and the Old Town. Taxis between the Old Town and Strip cost around 4-5 Euros each way.
Christmas and the New Year period are busier. The town is closed off around lunchtime on New Years Eve and thousands of people descend on Albufeira, though the focus is the Old Town where they hold a party on the beach which is exceedingly well attended.
