I walked along the coastline to eventually see the old town. Nice to view the history and culture. It doesn't take long to see most of it, as it's a small place. Shame to see a bit of rubbish and graffiti.

Nice place to stay and explore the Algarve, not a lot to see in the old town, one day would be enough. Took the train to Lagos and to the Spanish border for a €2 ferry crossing.

Very pretty town with cobbled streets and old buildings. Not a huge amount to do there, maybe half a day. The graffiti let the place down a little. Worth a quick visit if in the area but probably wouldn't return again

Perfect city mixed with old world charm and intimacy. Great great great food. Be careful if young boys on bike pass- hold on to purse. But I had no problems. This place appeals to history buffs, shoppers, romance, boating, exploring close island and beaches and...More

Well kept and tidy, not a large area but just right to see some nice shops and grab a coffee or a little lunch in one of the pretty cafes.

You can easily walk from the train station & bus station to the Marina & old town. The old town is not huge so is very doable on a day trip.
