The statue itself is only a statue, esp. when you have no idea about who he/she is. But this one lies on a beautiful coast, and you can have a perfect panoramic view there. Come to the beach to enjoy sunlight, and stand next to the statue to enjoy sunset.

Once you will see this Statue of Sao Goncalo, you will be very close to beautiful beaches all around, so enjoy it and continue until you will find them.

A statue along the front. A great view from here and a photo opportunity down to the beach - don't suppose many visitors know what or who this is a statue of.

Great view over the marina entrance and looking towards Alvor in the distance. The statue gives little explanation and history of the area.

It's a statue. It has some water around it. Is it memorable. Not really. But, the views from that area are nice. It does represent history of the area.

Nothing special, just an average statue, but there is a nice view for the Forte da Ponta da Bandeira, and the Praia Batata.

Not much other than a statue on the water side. No info on who he was or did to understand the importance.

It's in a spectacular position overlooking the mouth of the river , The beaches, Alvor and beyond. A reminder of Lagos's rich history of The discoveries.
