Historic market
Oct. 2020 • Solo
This market is located in a beautiful historic building, more than a hundred years old (1908 to be exactly) and quite large, it spans a whole block! When I came here the action was wrapping up, so be aware, opening hours are only until 3 pm, every day except sunday...

Saturday food market
Dec. 2019
We came here in December 2019, on the outside you have vendors selling fruit & veg-everything is so beautifully presented. Inside the main hall you have the fresh fish section-marvel at the huge slabs of tuna & the octopus complete with ink!
Inside there are stalls selling honey, cakes & various other foodstuffs. We had discovered a liking for port whilst in Portugal so we were pleased to see a stall selling port, the vendor is British and is very knowledgeable about what she sells-the bottles we bought were fantastic and reasonably priced. There are also stalls selling linens & touristy items, again all good quality & well-priced.
Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Very good market
Feb. 2020
We went to this market twice as we enjoyed it so much. Fruit and veg stalls outside. Fish market at one end inside and dry goods at the other end including wines and port, bakery and many other goods. Amazed to see the stacks of dried cod piles on tables.

Avoid Mondays
Feb. 2020
because most stalls are close but we did go on a Monday and it really wasn’t too bad. You get see the scale of the market when all the fish stalls are open. Definitely worth a visit on market days.

Very nice little market.

Very nice little market, typical. It can get very touristy on Saturdays especially in high season, yet it is the day to go.

Mar. 2019
It was carnival season when we visited hence the market was not full and not many stalls are open. It is nevertheless interesting to see the local products they sell. I also like to exterior of the building of the market. Definitely worth visiting!

Typical Portuguese Market with plenty of choice.
Nov. 2019
Locals / tourist market, but both welcome here. Language isn't an issue and everyone so friendly.
Bought some Portuguese linen, honey, fresh fruit and some food for lunch. There are a few inside places to drink, also the surrounding area has plenty too.
Would recommend to visit as it is a jewel in Loule and we believe on Saturday & Wednesday.

Historic mark experience
Nov. 2019
A wonderful market buzz in a beautiful historical building. Particularly facinating on market Saturdays when the market spills out onto the streets surrounding it and the farmers come to town.

Sorry...we drove...but I am sure that you will have not difficulty finding it. The bus station is nearby, as I recall. Check Google maps.

Where should I park close to the market?

As you come into the centre of the town there is parking to the left, right and straight ahead off the roundabout. The right turn has lots of parking spaces on both side of the one way system and down side roads. parking to the left can be found at the bottom of the road but not as many parking spaces this way. Not haven driven straight across the roundabout I am unable to comment on the parking spaces but assume that like the side streets, there is also plenty of parking. Parking is pay & display metered in this area.
I would have a look on google earth/maps, it will give you a bit of an insight of the towns layout

how far is it from the Magnolia hotel and the Conrad?
skdb2014
Wirral, UK31 contributions
My apologies For my incorrect response earlier.
Magnolia and the Conrad are both approx 15 minutes drive away from Loule market.
Saturday is a good day to visit the market with its vast array of stalls after 1pm parking is fee but many of the shops close for a while
