It's a small castle but definitely worth a short stop... there's a museum inside too but the most interesting part of the visit is the climb up the tower and enjoying a great view over the city...ticket sales are suspended now (corona?) but the place is open nevertheless, so it's free to visit!

Beautiful view from the top!

Visited the castle along with other sites on a morning trip to Loule. It offers a beautiful view overlooking this lovely town. Free admission for retirees!

Small town and Castle. If it's on our way, why not? But I wouldn't go out of my way to see. There are many other little places worth seeing in Algarve.

Europe has may castles. I liked the simplicity of this one. Not to big, not over done with old furniture and lots of chambers. Just an easy castle to walk around and enjoy without a lot of fluff.

but not much of it remains. The interior was actually rather similar, so if you have no time, just have a quick look along the street.

Small but interesting

Cheap (I think it was about 1.5 euros) entrance or free if over 65. There is a small museum and access to the castle walls for views. Nice to see the history of the town and surrounding area told through exhibits in the museum.

Not the largest of castles but some impressive views from the top. Worth the nominal entrance fee. Not a lot to see inside the castle itself however.

The history of the place is well explained here without being boring, and the staff are most informative and friendly. A pleasant oasis in the center of the city, and the views over the rooftops are definitely not to be missed.

Very inexpensive and Quick to See

It looked bigger from the online photo but it was only $1.65 so I cannot complain. I wouldn’t travel to this city specifically to se this castle but if you are in Loulé you should go to see it.
