Very long and very wide all golden sand, plenty or room for everyone. A decked walkway runs across the top with a few bars and restaurants. Ends with a nature reserve at one end and cliffs at the other. Was windy when I visited which...More

We were very impressed with this Quaint old fishing village. It has a broad walk along the edge of the estuary, which is wonderful for wildlife. There is an array of restaurants and bars. They have an Irish quarter for those looking for a craic

The most stunning beach we have ever been too, our favourite whilst on our travels through Europe. We found our own personal spot by the coves, which are beautiful. We walked from our campsite which only took us 10-15 minutes. We went in September, the...More

Long sandy beach. Great in October through to April. Avoid in peak season. Absolute nightmare - far too busy. Too crowded.

Plenty of parking in and around the fishing port of Alvor. The walk to the beach can be long or as short as you like, longer if you follow the board walks around the nature reserve. Good bars and toilet facilities at the beach front

This beach has a gentle slope ta the waters edge so is great for young kids. "Dunas" restaurant is a must for lunch or dinner.

We have been to Portugal for many years and always visit Alvor Beach. A very long sandy beach ideal for a good long walk or just lazing on. Whilst there are many sun bed and sunshade concessions there is ample space for every body. Some...More

Great beach with waves for jumping and rocks to swim round. Lovely clear water and golden sands. No shade unless you pay for a lounger
