We only saw the exterior but it is well worth the climb from the town and is close by the castle giving a quite splendid impression of the town.

Gothic style cathedral, worth a visit, lovely stain glass window. Interesting ‘depictions’, food for thought.

A steep climb from the bottom of the town but worth a stop if you are climbing to the castle. Small but elegant, a nice quiet space. Will only take about 10 mins , has a small entrance change.

This former cathedral (until 1577, the bishop's church is now in Faro) was severely damaged in 1755 in an earthquake, but sympathetically rebulit, The east end in red stone is ancient, the whitewashed remainder more recent. The north-east chapel has an unusual statue of Jesus...More

This is a beautiful if unassuming Cathedral. It is well worth visiting if you are interested in architecture or religious buildings.

Visited this Cathedral after hearing its bells ring out across the valley from our hotel on the half hour and the hour. It is a steep uphill climb and it costs 1 Euro for entry. Inside is a quiet space for reflection and prayer. Walked...More

Whilst in Silves we were looking for a mass and asked at the cathedral. The cathedral is beautiful inside and out. Beautiful music playing inside and very interesting stations of the cross. Well worth the euro entrance fee.
