We bought the combined ticket for €3.90 we spent 10mins in the museum, unless you are interested in history or archaeology then don't visit. There were lots of pots that had been found but no English explaining anything. Some interesting pictures on the first floor...More

worth a visit and a tour down the well, as well as on to the roof top, very helpful staff and if you buy a combined ticket for the castle you get free wine tasting in the square!

Beautiful little museum, tiny but not to be missed if you like history. I was impressed by the (very slight) Visigothic burial remains and the castle model. They have made the most of what they have and it is not expensive ( free for OAPs).

We nipped in here for a quick look around & bought tickets that included entry to 'Castelo de Silves'. It was a real cool spot to look around, we loved it.

It was good, it was all in Portuguese so we used google translate to help. I enjoyed it but it needed to be more substantial. It was cheap so well worth the money.

It was a interesting to see the artifices, the only thing is the information explaining the the origins of the artifices were all in Portuguese, google translate helped. It was very cheap. So no complaints.

You have to be into archeology to appreciate this. The old well was interesting to see, but you really could not look into in because it was covered in plexiglass.

Near the Town Hall, designed around an impressive Moorish well with spiral staircase around it dug into the rock. The museum has remnants of pottery, stone and metal from pre historic times to the middle ages. Some of the Celtic stones have examples of 'writing...More

It's an interesting setting for a museum. Beside the walls, over and around the medieval water cistern. But there is very little to see. I expected cases of pottery and bits of statuary and architecture. But it was just broken bits. The stuff that is...More
