Not necessary to visit except you need to go to the necessaries or get informations from tourism office. Renovated in modern style with lots of wood and lava stone, the views offered is the same if you move some steps away right or left.

It's a quite place at the open air. It's a free attraction. From here you can see the Lages do Pico village, the marina, and the clear water from the natural swimming pools.

The grounds were nicely kept and historical. The gift shop had a lot to offer., from cheese, wine, and artifacts.

Old fort that in previous centuries protected the harbor of Lages. Not much to see except for some nice views, a little tourist shop and information desk, but worth a little visit. :)
