Visited here on the last day of our 4 island trip by which time we felt we'd seen enough caldera and their lakes - how wrong we were! Beautiful and unspoilt. Reminded us a little of wild Scotland and we were sorry not to have the time to trek down to the lake shore and walk along the sandy beach... More

And amazing experience. We were lucky that we caught very good weather. The lagoon is amazing and we hiked to the bottom and spent some time near the water. The view is amazing from the too and the bottom. Hike can be tough for people that are not used to doing such thing but I recommend. Take proper clothing and... More

We started on the west side ..the trail was very doable ...but you had better be in shape ...imagine walking off 2-3 foot boxes ...many steps down were like that ... no real hand rails ...IF they had one ..you better use it!!! A taller walking stick would be helpful ... Don't do if you have bad knees or hips... More

Beautiful view from the top where you can also see all the west side of the island narrowest point. Went for a walk down to the lake and around till the seagull area where I had to turn back because they where starting to be a bit aggressive. Wonderful lake shore.

Although it requires some patient driving to get to the top, the splendour of the view compensates the effort. Shame there was some fog, but on a sunny day the view must be even more breathtaking.

My son and I hikes down the "goat path" from the miradour to the lake and around to a nice stretch of sand. It was pretty easy and the beach was so peaceful. The hike back up was much mote strenuous, but doable with a halfway break.

I was staying in Ponta Delgada. I didn't rent a car nor did I booke a tour. Therefore, I took the public bus (313) that took me to Remedios, from there I hiked to the lagoa. I took me about an 1h10 going up and maybe 45-50 min coming down. The views are outstanding going up and coming down. I... More

Fogo Lake is absolutely beautiful. It's so rare to see a place that is completely wild and untouched by people. It's both the smallest and youngest volcano on the island, but seeing it is hugely reliant on the weather. The best views are from above, but if there's fog, which there often is, it'll be impossible to see anything. If... More
