Aloha....Sete Cidades . I say that because the beautiful lush scenery here reminded me of Hawaii. Who knew this was the Azores. The gorgeous azul hydrangeas lining the highways bringing you to this breath taking vantage point. The tranquility of these surrounding just melt your...More

Splendid views along the wat. Easy by car. Check the weather forecast or, better, the site/app 'sporazores' for actual webcam images to see the view.

We waited for a sunny day before visiting as really not worth it otherwise. Check webcams. There are many stopping places on the way to take photos of the incredible views. There is not much to see in the town there but there are 2...More

Simply the best spot of Sao Miguel, however you must be lucky with weather, it's often very cloudy (but it's usual for the Açores islands). We recommend coming from the road near Covoada, there are nice view and lakes.

This was an amazing day for us. We started off by driving all the way down to the two lakes at the bottom, one green and one blue, then drove back up taking photos at each viewpoint on the way, including a beautiful picnic spot...More

We had an overcast day... but it did clear up enough to get a peak. The teens enjoyed exploring the old abandoned hotel right next to the view point witch offers great photography opportunities and you get an even better view from the rooftop -...More

Great views and lovely to see the two different coloured lakes next to each other but definitely a low level exercise trip ! Good trip to do if a tad unadventurous though the off-roading down the crater mountain side was good !!! You can't walk...More

Before Walking to the lake's edge; we first stopped off at an abandoned hotel. If you have younger children I would not recommend going to this viewpoint; lift shafts not only have no doors but also lacked any sort of safety precautions, the dangers aside,...More

We stopped at the viewpoint on a car tour around the island after visiting the village and lake below on a different day. It really is an incredible sight with the huge volcanic crater and two lakes, one green and the other blue. The clouds...More

Not that this place needs any more promotion, but it really is one of those places that is not overrated. The real-life experience is just as amazing as all of the pictures you've seen online. We took in the views of Sete Cidades from three...More

We rented a car and drove there on our own. That way we were able to go at our own speed and stop and hike. It's an easy drive as long as you are comfortable driving on narrow roads!

It is a very safe place to drive and hike around. The weather can change pretty quickly though, especially mist, with good to zero visibility in seconds. Just be smart and have a phone or let people know where you are going... More
