Our favourite area on the island. Surrounded by beautiful hills covered with lush green forests. Lovely houses and beatiful parks in the city. Terra Nostra Garden is a real paradise. The area around Lake Furnas with the little chapel on the south shore and the...More

I have visited Furnas three times and had the pleasure of staying at two of its excellent hotels. What makes Furnas so appealing is the fact that the town (village) lies within the confines of a volcanic crater which is still active. Minutes away from...More

We visited Furnas during a day tour and were so happy to see everything in the area including the caldeiras and the upside-down structure. It was really somewhat other-worldly to stroll around the calderas and boiling waters. Be sure to stop even if you have...More

Beautiful country to get to Furnas. The tour was Furnas with the provided lunch. Lunch was not a snack, but a full-meal-deal with wine. The lunch (3-4 different meats, vegetables, bread, butter) along with wine of the region was so good! And you can drink...More

The Furna's Park is fantastic with its natural, termal water rivers at 39 centigrade grades! Different pools to relax with nice nature around. Amazing place!

We were wonder what to expect when our guide said we would be seeing what sounded like a side house. We were on our way to the hot springs and to be honest I would not make a trip out to just see this. Having...More

Known for it "stew", Furnas has a great local cuisine where they cook their stew in the ground by the thermal hot springs. Wonderful dinner and much to see in the town.

Hot springs, hot tubs, lots of sights to walk around. We visited the hot springs area and saw the food being prepared at the beach on the lake cooking in the dirt using only the volcanic heat. We later enjoyed our lunch at Tony’s eating...More
