This is one of the most renowned tourist places in the Island, though It's not my favorite. Thermal springs, resorts and the beautiful Terra Nostra garden are worth a visit.

Wonderful place to be and see if you're a nature lover. Beautiful lake and surrondings. Must try and enjoy the local food; "Cozido das Furnas", Boilled vegetables and meats on a ground vulcanic crater.

Amazing hot springs. My advice is to take a cheap swim suit. Water has alot of minerals so good for skin but stains clothes. Had lunch at tonys restaurant. Lunch was cooked in the geysers and you can watch them pull it out of the...More

The warm natural pools were very relaxing. The gardens are beautiful. Well worth the trip. It was a little difficult to find, the entrance is a small gate that looks like the gate to a residence. The large pool water is orange and can stain...More

The lake at Furnas is huge, the surrounding areas are green and lush and the miradouro on top offered some impressive views. Did not see much from the village as I was passing through, but the hot springs should also be given a try!

It's truly a unique experience to eat the traditional stew cooked underground in the hot earth. The views are out of this world. I just wish I had had time to bathe in the thermal springs, hopefully next time.

Terra Nostra Hotel in Furnas is fabulous with a lovely restaurant. You are right at the park and have access for nice walks before or after park hours. The Talisman in Ponta Delgada is also fabulous with a lovely restaurant.

It is on the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores. We flew directly from England but I understand there is a flight to Ponte del Garda ( the capital ) from Faro. Furnas is about a 40min taxi ride away from that airport. Well... More
