We spent a couple of hours here on a drizzly morning when our cruise ship docked here overnight. What a pleasant surprise! Not a huge museum but it was fun climbing up and down the fort going in and out the exhibition halls. 3E general admission but 1E for seniors. Group rate for 10 or more also 1E each. Personnel was very friendly and accommodating. Would love to go back one day.

We had wanted to visit this place for two years. Didn`t quite make it last time. We enjoyed everything about this place. They had lots of military artifacts to look at and it was well kept. I want to go back, next time i am in the area. The guy on the desk was nice to talk too. It was very good at 3.00 Euros each to get in. Well worth it. I would have liked to see some of the artifacts with English wording as well as Portuguese, but it didn`t matter. The quality of the exhibits was very high.

As a retired American Soldier I always visit military museums. However, i do have more knowledge of American history than I do of other countries. This museum really made me realize that other countries have their own history and their own pride in their soldiers. The Portuguese have fought in many wars and insurrections, and have served in UN peace keeping missions. This outpost of Portugal, so far from the mainland keeps alive the memory of that service. The museum is on an active military post and should me a must see for this island.

3 Euros entrance fee and worth every cent. There is a wide range of military equipment on show and although only small it is excellent value for money.

Well worth the three euros per person entry fee. Has a wonderful museum filled with military artifacts and wonderful views of the harbor and city. Takes about an hour or two to really see it all
