This is an absolutely beautiful spot, but as always with the Azores, your visit must be timed very well to not just end up on a muddy track in the middle of a cloud. But if you manage to time the visit just right (early in the day on a clear day), it is an absolutely stunning view. There is a parking lot by the main road and about 20-25 min walk from there to the view point, but if you turn down the dirt road by the parking lot, you can drive almost all the way out to the viewpoint. Make sure to bring practical (preferably hiking boots) as the trail can be quite slippery and is somewhat steep (although not that long),…

We parked near Canary's Lagoon, we take a walk around this lake and continued on dirt road across forest by foot. You can go on this dirt road also by car up to parking near Miradouro da Boca do Inferno, but have in mind that rental services forbid go on dirt road. Anyway trip is steep, but mostly easy and view on vulcanic landscape is amazing. To be honest, we expected a little more because of the breathtaking photos on the internet and the reality didn´t seem so spectacular. Nevertheless, you shouldn't miss this place. I really enjoyed driving from Sete Cidades up to the parking, where you have amazing views and the road is richly lined with hydrangeas Trip from parking near Lagoa do Canario is 24 min by walk (this park place is also Trail start/end n.
