This museum is surprisingly good given Angra is such a small city (about 35,000). Not very many other cities that size have a museum of this quality. The highlight is the church which is almost as big as the cathedral and much more attractive. You...More

I believe the tour costs 3 E and well worth it. Learn about the history of the island and see such beautiful artifacts. Trip too us about 2 hours.

This a great stop on a rainy day. Lots to see, my favorite was the extensive timeline of the island. Free on Sunday, one euro(?) on other days. Lovely and magnificent church adjoining.

Worth spending time here with massive collections, a beautiful old adjoining church, and admission for the two of us was about three euros.

This museum is located next to the city garden. There are rotating exhibits on the lower level along with a beautiful chapel. The upper level contains the history of Terceira. This is a great place to spend a few hours learning about the island!

I loved that this was a monastery turned school turned museum - and that much of the old building remained. The whole cathedral is still intact, as are the courtyards. There is an interesting variety to the collections depicting the history of Angra and I...More

We went to this Palace not knowing what to expect but this was an excellent exhibit to visit. We had an English speaking guide who narrated the Portuguese History & it was well worth it. Highly recommended if you are in Terceira islands.

Very nice museum. Most exhibits were in English so you were able to read it. Make sure when you go to the second floor you go to the left so you follow the time line of the history of the island.
