Entry is limited to small groups at fixed times. The library was very dark with only very dimly lit ceiling. As photography is not allowed (and practically impossible in such dark), the place could offer at least some postcards.

A must visit, the library is one of the oldest in Europe and was the inspiration for the Uni in Harry Potter.

Their website is very confusing e misinformative. Since it is the main attraction of Coimbra, they should provide better support!

Don't miss this library with the old books if you visit Coimbra. It's a must-see. It's beautiful. You are on a timed entrance ticket and no photos allowed.

Just amazing to stand and see this beautiful library. Walking around the university and then going to this beautiful room puts the history of this important place in perspective.

The library which is like no other library that you will have ever seen. It was J K Rowling’s inspiration for the inside of Hogwarts.

A very interesting institute. The visit must be reserved in advance, so come early in the morning. We arrived at 9:00 and got a tour at 12:00 .

I really can't give you a sensible answer because I, for one, haven't been able to work out how it should be done. Having said that, I am convinced that the "authorities" think it is at this web page! put slash y8tckm26 on a... More
