The largest beach in Cascais lies east of Rua Frederico Arouca (the main, mosaic-paved street in town) and is the best place to lounge on the sands with a drink in your hand. The April afternoon was so hot that we even went swimming - it was chili, but who cares...

excellent facilities and very affordable food by beach....although the water tends to be cold (not this week, during heatwave!) being so close to Cascais centre we ended up spending 3 whole days of our 6 day holiday just lazing around. A little gem besides for young families the science museum is well worth a go too!

I don't particularly like this beach due to the water quality. I personally think that there are lots of better beaches in cascais like guincho or praia da rata. But if you are visitng with family or friends this is the beach that offers more activities to do, such as paddle boarding. You can also rents gaivotas (little boats with... More

This was our first visit to Cascais. We have previously stayed further round coast and visited the beaches between Santo Amaro and Carcavelos. Be aware the sea water at Praia da Conçeicão is extremely cold in comparison to the other we have visited. Never the less this did not impact on us having a fabulous family vacation. The beaches in... More

After our visit from the Algarve this just seemed really poop compare to the southern coast unfortunately. We were there in peak season + weekend, the beach is packed and packed of people (locals and tourists). The worst thing is that the water temp is FREEZING cold, average of 15C, while it's nice to cool down but you can't swim... More

I've been to many seas with cold water, especially in the eagean sea but this felt pretty cold. The sea is shallow, you need to keep walking until it gets a little deeper. It's children's day in the morning but around 11:30 they start leaving and the place starts to be more quite. We first went to cascais de baia... More

Fine golden sand beach well protected from the Atlantic Ocean. For us the water was comfortable at about 70 F/20C. Gradual entrance to the water, which is great for kids swimming or paddling. Loungers and umbrellas available for rent.

There are a number of beaches to choose from in Cascais but not having researched fully, and having come across this one first, we opted to head down. 2x sun loungers and a parasol cost 20 Euros but are worth the outlay; if you approach them then a salesman will appear quickly so don’t worry about looking for him!
