Amazing city and amazing place

Old residence of the Counts of Guimares

The large building with its surrounding park, near the sea is transformed into a museum with large collection of paintings, furniture, ceramics etc. An absolute highlight in Cascais.

Historic Cascais

We passed this site daily and finally went in. It is a FREE exhibit on the history of Cascais going back before the Romans. We should have stopped in when we first visited Cascais.

DO NOT WALK IN FRONT OF THIS BUILDING AND IGNORE IT.

We saw three exhibitions all from different periods. The building itself is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. Do visit it after you have had a long walk in the park.

Excellent value

We popped in here on the last day of our holiday and only paid €3 to see an amazing photography exhibition of Nicolas Muller's work amongst other things. The staff were very friendly and they also have a beautiful atrium area with cafe/restaurant.
