We were on the hop on/hop off bus tour that Tripadvisor can't seem to list or find...very similar to the Lisbon hop on/hop off bus tour. One of the stops was for the Colares winery and I thought...hey, sounds interesting...let's get off. We were the...More

As I recall, this is a local coop. The local vines managed to avoid the devastation of most of Europe's vines from the Phylloxera outbreak in the mid 19th century. We bought a couple of bottles to take to the hotel and enjoyed the cheap...More

We were looking for a good winery to visit, like Napa and found this pace. Although I would not recommend it that way I would recommend the tasting. Some of the wines are very good I loved the reds. By the way, this place is...More

Attended a private event here which included dinner and wine. Both were excellent as was the service. Would love to go back and see the cooperative in action.

Great local find. A cooperative winery in a small coastal apalechin with unique farming practices. Our host Francisco was charismatic and knowledgeable. Wanted more tastings but what we tasted was very good. Highly recommended.

I took the wine tour with my family (all adults) in the late afternoon on a Thursday. The gentleman giving the tour was extremely knowledgable, very interesting to listen to and also quite friendly. He had loads of information for every question we asked him....More

Went to this place as a part of an event with approximately 300 other people at a conference. They clearly cannot manage a group of this size. Appetizers were terrible and they kept pushing the same ones around that no one wanted to eat. We...More

Although we arrived unannounced on a whim, a man working there kindly offered to show us the room where they age the wine in barrels. He explained a bit about the process and told us where we could locate some of the few sand vineyards...More

Hi Judy, my wife and I recently visited this winery and we did need to book a reservation. Francisco is one of the co-op owners and took us in a tour of the production facility and a tasting, both very informative and... More
